WXYZ — Detroit Loyola High School is marking an exciting milestone.

For the tenth straight year, 100 percent of graduating seniors are going onto college.

Loyola's Class of 2020 graduated June 17 at the Cathedral of the Most Blessed Sacrament in Detroit.

The ceremony observed all social distancing guidelines.

Seniors were thrilled to unite one last time before starting the next chapter of their studies.

“2020 has been anything but an ordinary year, and the students have responded in an extraordinary way," said Loyola President Dave Smith.

During the pandemic, Loyola and its staff have provided more than 5,000 meals to community members.

“The pandemic taught our students and staff a valuable lesson - that life doesn’t always go according to plan and it’s important to be resourceful, resilient and persistent,” explained Principal Wyatt Jones.

The 2020 graduating class is led by valedictorian Camron Baker and salutatorian Eric Cox.

Both young men "truly embodied our school motto of ‘Men for Others. Men for Detroit,” Jones added.

We wish Loyola's 2020 class all the best in their future endeavors!
