1 dead after semi hits 3 vehicles, causes fire on M-14; Highway closed through rush hour

(WXYZ) — One person has died after a semi hit three vehicles and started a fire on eastbound M-14 Friday morning.

According to MSP, they received 911 calls around 9:30 a.m. about a traffic crash involving several vehicles and a semi.

Police say the semi truck hit three vehicles that were stopped or slowing in backup traffic.

One of those vehicles caught on fire, killing a person inside.

The highway is closed between Haggerty and Shedon roads, and they expect it to be closed through at least evening rush hour.

Traffic is being ramped off at Beck Rd.
